In its latest report, the business intelligence firm Altrata notes that the ultra-high-net-worth people – those worth US$30-million or more – gave a total of US$190-billion to philanthropic causes in 2022, almost 25 per cent more than in 2018, and made up nearly 38 per cent of all individual giving.
